Product description
Scissors with micro-serration: the fabric doesn't escape the blade
Professional scissors from the TURBO series by D.PERES SOLINGEN, with a total length of 20 cm and blades 8 cm long. One of the blades has a fine micro-serration along the edge, and the other blade is smooth. The serration grips the fabric while closing and stops it from slipping forward, so the cut stays in place even on slippery fabrics such as satin, silk, chiffon and lining.
The scissors are made in Solingen, Germany, with a central screw joint and large black handles that are comfortable to grip in long stretches of work. The relatively short length, 20 cm, gives good control on curves and corners.

Tips for working with serrated scissors
Leave the fabric on the table: The lower blade is flush with the surface, and the serration does the work without pulling the fabric
Close slowly: In smooth fabrics a slow, continuous closing gives a cleaner line
Don't sharpen at home: Regular sharpening may ruin the serration. If needed, go to professional sharpening
Keep for fabric only: Paper and hard materials damage the serration
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Cutting pattern paper with the same scissors: The serration dulls quickly
Expecting a completely smooth edge: On some fabrics the serration leaves a line slightly different from a smooth blade. For a delicate finish you can go over it with smooth scissors
Leaving the scissors open: The tips may get damaged. Close them and return them to the packaging
Fabric scissors with or without serration: what to choose
Fabric scissors come with a smooth blade or a serrated blade, and each type has its place:
Smooth blade: A clean, quiet cut in cotton, linen, wool and stable garment fabrics. Easier to sharpen
Micro-serration, as in this model: The tiny teeth grip the fabric and stop it from slipping. Better for slippery fabrics such as satin, silk, viscose and lining
Sharpening: A blade with micro-serration is sharpened only by a sharpener who knows this type
Someone who mainly sews slippery fabrics will gain from the serration. For general work on stable fabrics, a smooth blade is enough.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
What are the dimensions of TURBO scissors?
The total length is 20 cm, and the blades are 8 cm long.
What is the advantage of micro-serrations?
The serration grips the fabric as the scissors close, so the fabric does not slip forward. This is important with smooth fabrics such as satin, silk, chiffon and lining.
Is the serration on both blades?
No. The serration is on one blade, and the other blade is smooth.
Can serrated scissors be sharpened?
It is not advisable to sharpen at home. Regular sharpening may ruin the serration, so use professional sharpening.
Where are the scissors made?
In Solingen, Germany, under the D.PERES SOLINGEN brand.
Which fabrics are micro-serrated scissors suitable for?
Especially for slippery and delicate fabrics: silk, satin, chiffon, organza, lining and thin knits, which tend to slip between smooth blades.
Can I use them for regular fabrics too?
Yes. The serrations do not interfere with cutting cotton, linen and medium fabrics, and they add grip there too. For long cuts and layers, the longer models are more suitable.
What does the SOLINGEN marking mean?
Solingen is a city in Germany associated with the manufacture of scissors and knives. The name is protected by German law, and only products whose main production takes place in the city's area may carry it.
Are the scissors suitable for left-handed users?
The model is built for the right hand. Anyone who cuts with their left hand will prefer dedicated left-handed scissors, in which the order of the blades is reversed.
Can I order a quantity for a workshop or a store?
Yes. For bulk orders of D.PERES scissors, you can contact us.
