Product description
Lady Lean: a women's torso for narrow cuts and fitted garments
Not every collection suits a form with average measurements. A fitted knit dress, a bodysuit, short leggings or an XS bikini look stretched on a wide form, and the seams run off to the sides. Lady Lean was built exactly for these garments. The narrow waist (65 cm) and moderate hips (89 cm) let the garment fall in the right line, and the elongated torso leaves it room to open.
The form is made of rigid plastic in a matte white finish. It covers the body from the base of the neck to mid-thigh, without a head and without arms. The shoulders are narrow and rounded (40 cm), the bust is shaped in natural proportions (85 cm), and there is a long, soft transition from the waist to the hips. At a height of 89 cm it is slightly taller than a regular women's torso, so it stands out more on a counter or a stage, and short dresses get a visible length on it.
The matte finish doesn't reflect light, so fabric colors stay accurate both under strong store lighting and in photography. The form stands on its own on the straight cut of the hips and needs no rod or base.
Common uses
Fitted fashion: Bodycon dresses, knit dresses, bodysuits and crop tops.
Swimwear: One-piece swimsuits and bikinis, especially in the small sizes.
Underwear: Sets, lace bodysuits, teddies and short nightgowns.
Sports and athleisure: Top and bike-short sets or short leggings and yoga wear.
Catalog photography: Photographing garments for a website and social media, with a narrow silhouette that flatters tailored garments.
Designed shop windows: Because of the height and the long lines, the form suits a minimalist, boutique-style display.
Who the form is for
Young fashion boutiques and stores that mainly sell sizes XS to S will get a form on which their garment looks as it was designed. Swimwear, lingerie and sportswear stores use it for body-hugging garments, where every centimeter of the cut is visible. Designers photograph collections of tailored, fitted garments on it, and photo studios use it for uniform catalog images. For stores and chains that display several forms at once, we supply quantities directly from the import, with personal support.
Professional tips
Matching the size
Before dressing it, compare the garment's measurements to the circumferences in the specifications: bust 85, waist 65 and hips 89 cm. Garments in a narrow cut, roughly sizes 34 to 36, will sit naturally on it. A larger item can be gently clipped at the back with a display clip, so the line at the front stays clean.
Dressing without damaging the garment
Tops and one-piece swimsuits are dressed over the shoulders. Bottoms are threaded from below through the hips, because the form has no legs. A fitted knit garment is worth stretching lightly by hand before dressing, so it doesn't distort on the shoulder line.
A pair of forms in two cuts
Lady Lean next to a women's torso in average sizes, in the same garment and in two sizes, shows the customer how the item looks on a different body structure. It's a simple sales tool that reduces hesitation.
Cleaning
Wiping with a damp cloth and a little mild soap is enough. Don't use abrasives or solvents, which may leave shiny marks on the matte finish.
Common mistakes
Dressing it in garments of size L and up. The narrow cut will make a large garment look loose and unflattering. Such garments need a torso in wider sizes.
Confusing it with a dress form. This is a rigid plastic display form, and you don't stick pins in it. For sewing and fitting patterns you need a padded dress form with a fabric cover.
Displaying long items on it. The body ends at mid-thigh, so long trousers and maxi dresses won't look right on it.
Placing it on an uneven surface. The form stands on the cut of the hips and needs a flat, stable surface.
Lady Lean or the women's torso in average sizes?
Both forms cover the same area of the body, from the neck to mid-thigh, in the same material and the same matte white finish. The difference is in the body structure. Lady Lean is narrower and taller: shoulders 40, bust 85, waist 65, hips 89 and height 89 cm, so it suits the small sizes and fitted garments. The torso in average sizes is wider and shorter: shoulders 43, bust 88, waist 68, hips 97 and height 83 cm, and it suits most garments in medium sizes. When the collection is narrow and fitted, Lady Lean is the choice.

What is the form made of?
The form is made of rigid plastic with a matte white finish. The material is durable for everyday use in a store and cleans with a damp cloth. The matte finish does not reflect light, so the colors of the garment stay accurate in photography too.
What is the difference between Lady Lean and the women's torso in average sizes?
Lady Lean is slimmer and taller: waist 65 cm, hips 89 cm and height 89 cm, compared with waist 68, hips 97 and height 83 cm in the average torso. It suits fitted garments and small sizes, and the average torso suits most garments in medium sizes.
Which garments suit displaying on Lady Lean?
It suits fitted garments that end at mid-thigh: bodycon and knit dresses, bodysuits, swimwear, underwear and sportswear sets. Long trousers and maxi dresses won't be displayed properly on it, because it has no legs.
Can pins be stuck into the form?
No. Lady Lean is a rigid plastic display form, intended for displaying finished garments. For pinning, sewing and fitting patterns you need a padded dress form with a fabric cover.
What clothing size is Lady Lean suitable for?

How do I clean the form?
A soft, damp cloth with a little mild soap, without abrasives or solvents.
Is the form suitable for product photography?
Yes. The matte white finish doesn't reflect light, and the narrow cut highlights the lines of the garment. Shoot against a plain background and in soft light.
How do I dress a fitted dress on a form without arms?
Put the dress on from the top, through the neck and shoulders, and pull gently downward. With a zippered dress, open the zipper all the way before dressing.
