Long Garment Cover That Protects Your Garment on the Go Too
A garment cover 180 cm long and 60 cm wide, made of black PEVA. The length is enough for a maxi evening dress, a slim-cut wedding dress, a long coat or a suit with room to spare at the bottom. The garment goes into the cover while hanging on its own hanger, and stays protected from dust, stains, rain drips and rubbing against other clothes in the wardrobe or the car.
PEVA is a flexible plastic material that contains no chlorine, unlike PVC, so it is not stiff and has none of the sharp smell of ordinary plastic. Water stays on the surface as droplets and does not soak in. That is the advantage over non-woven covers: a garment taken to an event on a rainy day, or moved between studio and client, arrives dry and clean.
What the cover includes
Full-length zipper along the whole cover - open it all the way and put in or take out a dress with a train or shaped shoulders without folding it or pulling it hard.
Clear pocket on the front - slip in a card with the client's name, size, delivery date or a description of the garment, and identify the garment without opening the zipper.
Two carrying handles on the back - an upper handle and a lower handle. Fold the cover in half, the two handles meet, and you can carry the garment like a bag without it dragging on the floor.
Opaque black shade - hides the garment from passers-by and keeps it discreet, which matters especially for wedding dresses and made-to-order garments.

Pro tips
Measure the garment before choosing a cover. Measure from the shoulder to the hem and add about 10 cm for the hanger and some clearance. A dress up to 165 cm fits comfortably in a 180 cm cover.
Put only a completely dry garment in the cover. PEVA does not breathe. A garment put in damp after steam ironing or after an event may develop a smell and mildew. After ironing, wait a few hours before closing the zipper.
For long storage, air it from time to time. A few times a year, open the zipper for an hour or two, especially in humid months.
Hang on a wide hanger. For heavy dresses and coats, a hanger with wide shoulders keeps the shoulder shape. Thin wire hangers leave marks on the garment.
Fill in the clear pocket. A card with a name and order number saves opening ten covers while looking for one garment.
Common mistakes
Choosing a short cover for a long dress. A regular suit cover will not cover a maxi dress, and the hem will drag and get dirty. Long garments need a 180 cm cover.
Assuming every cover is waterproof. Non-woven covers protect from dust but absorb water. When the garment leaves the house, PEVA protects better.
Storing for years in a sealed cover without checking. PEVA is excellent for protection and transport. For archival storage of several years, air it from time to time or add a breathable cover.
Cramming several garments into one cover. A 60 cm width is designed for one full garment, or two thin ones at most. Cramming causes creases.
