Product description

Long gusseted dress cover for wedding and evening gowns

A wedding gown or evening gown with a full skirt doesn't fit well in a flat cover. When the fabric is pressed between two close walls, creases form in the skirt, the tulle layers get crushed and the train folds unevenly. That is why this cover has a 25 cm gusset along its entire length. It opens up to volume, so the gown hangs inside in its natural shape.

The cover is made of white non-woven fabric. Unlike a plastic bag, the fabric breathes: it protects against dust, dirt and handling, and at the same time lets air pass through so moisture isn't trapped around the fabric. At the top of the cover there is an opening for the hanger hook. A full-length zipper lets you open it almost all the way, insert a wide gown without pulling it, and check it without taking it out of the cover. At the top there is a clear window for storing small accessories, and also for identifying the garment without exposing it.

How it differs from a regular dress cover

  • 70 cm wide instead of 60 cm: Most long dress covers are 60 cm wide. The extra ten centimeters are felt with wide shoulders, puffed sleeves and dresses with embellishments on the upper part.

  • 25 cm gusset: A flat cover has no depth at all. Here the volume comes from the gusset and not from pressing the fabric.

  • 180 cm high: Enough for a full-length gown hanging on a hanger. If the train is longer, fold it inward at the bottom of the cover.

Common uses

  • Storing a wedding gown at home in the period between the last fitting and the wedding

  • Transporting the gown from the salon or the seamstress to the home, the venue or a photo session

  • Protecting evening gowns, ball gowns and bat mitzvah dresses in the closet

  • Display and neat handover of gowns in a bridal salon and in a dress rental shop

  • Storing dresses after dry cleaning, instead of the laundry's plastic bag

Who the cover is for

Salons, designers and seamstresses

In a bridal salon, every gown that goes out to a customer needs to arrive clean and crease-free. A uniform, dignified cover also conveys order and professionalism at the moment of handover. Designers and seamstresses who work with evening gowns also use it in the workroom, to protect gowns waiting for a fitting. Salons, rental shops and laundries can order in bulk - contact us by phone at 03-9444226 or by WhatsApp at 055-2473993.

Brides and families

For a bride taking the gown home, the cover saves worry in the last weeks before the wedding and also on the way to the venue, when the gown travels in a car or an elevator.

Professional tips for protecting the gown

  • A wide, sturdy hanger: A heavy gown with beading or many layers needs a hanger with wide shoulders. A thin wire hanger leaves marks on the shoulders.

  • The inner hanging loops: Most wedding gowns have fabric loops at the waistline. When you hang through them, the weight doesn't fall on the straps.

  • Folding the train: Fold the train gently at the bottom of the cover, and you can add white tissue paper between the folds so a sharp crease doesn't form.

  • Storage place: A closet in an interior room, away from direct sunlight and from sources of heat and moisture. A storage room, a basement or a bathroom is not a place for a gown.

  • Dry gown only: Don't close a gown that is still damp from steaming or cleaning inside the cover. Let it dry completely first.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving the gown in the laundry's plastic bag. Plastic doesn't breathe and traps moisture. Over time this may cause yellowing and odor.

  • Choosing a cover that's too short. If the bottom of the gown sticks out of the cover or drags on the floor, the purpose of the cover has not been achieved. A full-length gown needs a cover of at least 180 cm.

  • Stuffing a puffy gown into a flat cover. The skirt is crushed and the creases remain even after steaming. A full gown needs a cover with a gusset.

  • Hanging a heavy gown by thin straps only. The straps stretch. It's better to use the inner loops and a suitable hanger.

Frequently asked questions

What are the dimensions of the wedding gown cover?

The cover is 180 cm high, 70 cm wide and 25 cm deep. The height suits a full-length gown hanging on a hanger, and the depth makes room for a full skirt. When the train is longer than the cover, fold it gently inward at the bottom.

What is the cover made of?

The cover is made of white non-woven fabric. This is a material that protects against dust and dirt and at the same time allows air to pass through, so moisture isn't trapped around the gown as in a plastic bag.

Is the cover suitable for a full-skirted wedding dress?

Yes. The cover has a 25 cm gusset panel that opens and gives the full skirt room to hang in its natural shape without being crushed. In a flat cover with no gusset, the skirt gets pressed between the sides and wrinkles.

How do you put the gown into the cover without creasing it?

Open the zipper all the way, hang the gown on a wide hanger through the opening at the top of the cover and arrange the skirt inside the gusset. Fold the train gently at the bottom, you can use white tissue paper between the folds, and only then close the zipper slowly.

Can I order covers in bulk for a bridal salon or store?

Yes. We are a direct importer and supply dress covers also in quantities for bridal salons, dress rental stores, designers and laundries. For a wholesale quote, you can contact us by phone at 03-9444226, on WhatsApp at 055-2473993 or by email at habayt.labuvot@gmail.com.

What is the difference between a flat cover and a cover with a gusset?

A flat cover suits a single garment in a narrow cut, such as an evening gown, a suit or a coat. A cover with a gusset has side walls, so it also takes a puffy dress, a thick garment or several garments on hangers.

How do I store a wedding dress for a long time?

First have the dress professionally cleaned. Fill the folds and sleeves with acid-free tissue paper, hang the cover in a cool, dry, dark closet, and avoid basements, attics and garages. For an especially heavy dress, you can also consider storing it lying flat in a box.

Can I fly with the garment in the cover?

Yes. The cover protects the garment on the way. Before the flight, check with the airline whether you can take it into the cabin, because the rules vary between airlines.

What is the clear window for?

The window at the top lets you identify the garment without opening the zipper. This is convenient in a closet with several covers, in a bridal salon and at a dry cleaner.

What is the difference between this cover and the 60 cm wide wedding dress cover?

Both have a depth of 25 cm and a length of 180 cm. This cover is wider, 70 cm, so it gives more room for a dress with an especially full skirt or wide sleeves.
